This piece was specifically created for Beep Beep Gallery's Create Destroy Rebuild exhibition. CDR is a process oriented show. The artists are asked to take a completed work (either old or new), destroy it in whatever fashion they wish, and then rebuild the pieces to create an all-new piece of art.
The South African issued buttons where my father’s during his time in the South African army under the apartheid government. In 1976 he served as a medic during the Soweto Student uprisings.
